Lose the Carbs, Gain the Happy & Healthy

“I love the way this lifestyle makes me feel!”

Alese sought out the keto diet not in an attempt to lose weight, but for the good of her own health. During her last pregnancy, Alese developed gestational diabetes and felt that this, combined with her family history of Type 2 Diabetes, was motive enough for change.

“I lost about 10 lbs in the first 2 months and I've maintained that for 11 months. But my goal starting Keto wasn't for weight loss, it was for health. My A1C and blood work all remains healthy.”

Just as starting a new diet is for anyone, the beginning of Alese’s keto journey was rough. However, Alese wasn’t one to let that stop her from achieving her goals.

“The first three weeks were really rough. Lots of cravings and feeling hungry all the time. I think the main problem was I didn't know what I could eat. After getting used to calculating net carbs and what food is low carb, I realized keto doesn't limit my diet at all! I started my Instagram to share recipes and help others who are starting out the process.”

Keto has left Alese feeling like she’s gained a healthier relationship with food. Health and proper dietary management has become a priority on her list.

“I plan on staying keto long term. I don't see ever going back to my old eating habits. I love the way this lifestyle makes me feel! I would love to eventually publish a keto cookbook.”

Alese encourages everyone who decides to try out the keto diet not to drop it the moment the going gets tough.

“Don't give up! Give Keto a try for at least a month. Once you become fat adapted, the cravings leave, your appetite goes down, and your energy goes up! Don't let food control you. Fuel your body in a healthy way!”
